The Foundation of Prayer for Priests is a private association of the faithful according to the Church's canons 215; 298-299 §§1-2. Founded in 2013 with encouragement of Rome's Congregation for the Clergy, we exist to build up the Body of Christ in her priests.
The mission of the Foundation of Prayer for Priests, is to spiritually advance and protect the holiness and fruitfulness of the Priesthood of the Lord by igniting a global movement of prayer, sacrifice, service, and study.
We encourage women, men, families, parishes, to live their call to spiritual motherhood and fatherhood of priests and seminarians. Vital is this vision since St. John Vianney taught, “When people want to destroy religion, they begin by attacking the priest.”
Through FPP "Vianney Cenacles" prayer, Eucharistic Adoration, and the Rosary is offered by individuals or groups in homes or parishes. Through our program of spiritual adoption of priests and seminarians, you contribute to the chalice of grace for priests and seminarians.
We pray that the resources on this website will inspire an ardent desire to engage in this mission for the salvation of souls. The Church has been praying for the holiness of priests for two thousand years. Now, from the heart of the Church, the Congregation for the Clergy, in Rome, comes an urgent plea for more prayer for the holiness of priests. Please join us and invite others also. Praying for priests is a divine mandate, an invitation to growth in holiness.
